1,535,000 airlines miles/points! I recently ran the numbers on how many Airline miles I have accumulated since 2017. That has equated to about $19,617 USD in savings on flights. Even better, most of those flights have been Business or First Class. 🎉
Let’s Talk (briefly)!
Credit card companies want you to use their credit cards. It’s a spray and pray method. There are always people in any large group of numbers that does not know how to manage money. And because they do not know how to manage money, they end up doing things like paying minimum balances due. This is the credit card companies bread and butter. This is why there are so many 0% APR for 6-months or 12-months etc.. It’s a game of averages and large numbers. The few people who forget to make a payment, or don’t plan ahead, end up paying an exorbitant interest rate of 29%! I think that’s practically criminal. Sadly, there are no protections against this in the US. The consumer is left to fend on their own, bombarded with these pay later schemes every place you turn. Hell, last time I went to the local grocery store they were even offering a buy now pay later option. For food! 🤯
If you’re reading this post and have read my blog, most likely you are not one of these people. Instead, you are smarter and looking for a way to game the system. The answer is: credit card signup award miles.
There are many great resources out there from Nerdwallet, ThePointsGuy, and so forth that talk about this extensively, so this point is short. Go read up on credit card award miles, especially signup bonuses. Be sure to read the fine print. And whatever you do, make sure you pay off the FULL balance of your credit card each and every month and to live within your means.
